Things to do in Colón
Though primarily targeting wholesalers, the Free Trade Zone includes a number of shops where consumers can get great deals on high-end merchandise, including gold, jewelry and liquor. Leave time in your schedule to obtain passes, which are required for entrance. You can also enjoy duty-free shopping at the Colón 2,000 Mall. Check out these other attractions:
Gatun Locks – Located approximately eight miles from the hotel, the Gatun Locks present a marvel of engineering. Watch as ships “thread the needle” to enter the canal, and enjoy a beautiful view of Lake Gatun.
Fortifications at Portobelo/San Lorenzo – The Caribbean side of Panama boasts ruins of a fascinating coastal defense system that date back to the 17th century. Spain built sites like Fort San Lorenzo and Fort Farnese to help protect its maritime interests in the New World. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the fortifications are well worth the 20-mile drive west to San Lorenzo or 33 miles east to Portobelo.
Isla Grande – Plan a day trip to this small island, located about two hours away, where you can lounge on the beautiful white sand beach or splash in the crystal-clear water. Make sure you have money for the water taxi, and don’t forget to pack your own bottled water.

Hotels play an important role in the travel and tourism industry, contributing to the economic development of local communities around the world. We have a responsibility to the people and the physical environment of those communities—a responsibility to see that the community is not hurt by our presence, but rather, enhanced by it, both economically and socially.
We achieve this goal by going about our business in a responsible manner. At the Radisson, Responsible Business is centered around three important areas:
Radisson has a rich history of Responsible Business practices and offers a strong foundation as we continue to build on that history. Ultimately, we strive to serve the common good through our commitment to social responsibility.
World Childhood Foundation
Radisson is proud to support the World Childhood Foundation, which is committed to defending the rights of the child and securing better living conditions for children and young women at risk all over the world.
Radisson has signed and is committed to upholding The Code of Conduct to Protect Children Against Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism, The Code. Through this international set of guidelines, supported by ECPAT, travel and tourism companies have pledged to help end commercial sex trade of children.
United Nations Global Compact
