Things to do in Cartagena
Take a stroll through Cartagena, and explore these historic landmarks:
Clock Tower – Marking the grand entrance of Cartagena’s walled Old Town, the Torre del Reloj is about seven and a half kilometers from the hotel. While the original clock was built in 1601, architect Luis Philip Jaspe Franco renovated the tower in the Gothic style in the 1800s. Take some time to explore the shops that surround this impressive tower.
Heredia Theatre – Less than a 15-minute drive from the hotel, this horseshoe-shaped theater is adorned with stunning balconies, marble statues and decorated ceilings. Tour this 1911 masterpiece that was built to celebrate the city’s first 100 years of independence.
Fortress of San Felipe de Barajas – Never breached, this stronghold on the shores of the Caribbean was the greatest Spanish fortress of the 17th and 18th centuries. Bring a bottle of water for your trek through this expansive destination about seven kilometers from the Radisson, and explore the tunnels that were expertly engineered to carry sound in case of enemy intrusion.
